Get hands-on training from local instructors to teach you how to be a safe and effective firefighter

Scappoose Fire District takes our community, its safety, and your safety seriously. That is why we have all of our Firefighters attend our local fire academy to learn the essential skills to become Firefighters.

You can expect to learn about search and rescue, fire attack, Firefighter rescue, ground ladders, extrication techniques, communications, hazmat awareness and operations, personal protective equipment (PPE), ropes and knots, long tool/short tool use and operation, salvage and overhaul, EMS and much, much more!
